New Testament
Jesus tells the crowd not to live for food that perishes. He is the Bread of Life sent from the Father.
Psalm
Israel repeatedly provokes God, yet He remembers His covenant and shows mercy.
Proverb
Righteousness exalts a people; sin brings disgrace.
Discover
Israel wants a visible king to make them secure. Jesus offers something deeper: Himself, the Bread from heaven.
Reflect
What am I demanding from God because I think it will make me secure?
Fellowship
Discuss the difference between wanting God's gifts and wanting God Himself.
Prayer
Father, thank You for giving Your Son. Jesus, be my true satisfaction and King. Amen.
Live
Fast from one unnecessary comfort for a short time and turn the desire toward Jesus.
