It All Points to Jesus

Day 144 · May 24

A devotional for today

Today’s readings

Old Testament

David becomes king over all Israel and brings the Ark toward Jerusalem, though the story also reminds us God's holiness cannot be treated casually.

New Testament

Jesus gives the new command to love one another and says He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life who brings us to the Father.

Psalm

The psalmist asks God to open his eyes to wonderful things in His law.

Proverb

Those who listen to correction gain understanding.

Discover

David brings the symbol of God's presence toward Jerusalem. Jesus does more: He brings us to the Father Himself.

Reflect

Am I treating Christianity mainly as a path of rules, or as coming to the Father through Jesus?

Fellowship

Ask: How can our love for one another make Jesus visible?

Prayer

Father, thank You for making a way home through Your Son. Jesus, teach us to love as You loved. Amen.

Live

Show Christlike love in one concrete way.
