Day 164 · June 13
A devotional for today
Today’s readings
- Old Testament: 1 KINGS 11:1-12:19
- New Testament: ACTS 9:1-25
- Psalm: PSALM 131:1-3
- Proverb: PROVERBS 17:4-5
Old Testament
Solomon’s loves turn his heart toward idols, and the kingdom begins to tear apart. Rehoboam’s harshness accelerates the division. Human wisdom without faithful obedience collapses.
New Testament
Saul meets the risen Jesus on the Damascus road. The persecutor becomes a preacher: Jesus is the Son of God. Grace does not merely improve Saul; it redirects his entire life.
Psalm
The quiet soul rests in God rather than demanding greatness.
Proverb
Humility quiets the soul. We do not need to make ourselves great.
Discover
Solomon’s kingdom fractures; Saul’s old life is shattered by grace. Jesus can turn an enemy into a witness.
Reflect
What part of my old life still needs to surrender to the risen Christ?
Fellowship
Share one place in today’s reading where you saw Jesus more clearly. Then discuss the reflection question together.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, keep my eyes on You and shape my life by Your Word. Holy Spirit, give me grace to trust, obey, and follow You today. Amen.
Live
Remember who you were without Christ and thank Him for grace. Lord Jesus, help me not only to know Your Word but to live it. Transform my heart so that my life reflects You more each day.
