Day 193 · July 12
A devotional for today
Today’s readings
- Old Testament: 1 CHRONICLES 12:19-14:17
- New Testament: ROMANS 1:1-17
- Psalm: PSALM 9:13-20
- Proverb: PROVERBS 19:4-5
Old Testament
David’s support grows, but the first attempt to move the ark fails because holy things are handled carelessly. God still gives David victories.
New Testament
Romans opens with the gospel: God’s power for salvation, revealing righteousness received by faith.
Psalm
God sees the afflicted and will not forget them.
Proverb
Money can attract companions, but hardship reveals relationships.
Discover
Romans states the heartbeat plainly: the gospel is about Jesus Christ. Human strength cannot make us right with God; salvation comes through faith.
Reflect
Am I ashamed of the gospel in any setting?
Fellowship
Why is the gospel good news rather than merely good advice?
Prayer
Jesus, keep me unashamed of Your gospel and dependent on Your grace. Amen.
Live
Remember: the gospel is God’s power, not your performance.
