New Testament Paul warns that the love of money brings ruin. Godliness with contentment is great gain. Timothy is to flee destructive desires, pursue godly character, fight the good fight, and place hope in God rather than wealth. Psalm The psalm wrestles honestly with the apparent collapse of the Davidic promise and asks God to remember His covenant. Proverb A person without self-control is like a city whose defenses have been broken. Discover Jesus Jeremiah’s rejection points toward Jesus, who also speaks truth and is rejected. Psalm 89’s crisis makes the coming of Christ even more important: God has not abandoned David’s line. The true King comes, and our hope belongs in Him.
