It All Points to Jesus

Day 32 · February 1

A devotional for today

Today’s readings

Old Testament

After leaving Egypt, God guides Israel through the wilderness with a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. When Pharaoh pursues them, the Lord parts the Red Sea and brings His people safely across. The waters return over the Egyptian army, and Israel responds with a song celebrating God's power, faithfulness, and victory.

New Testament

Religious leaders challenge Jesus' authority. Through the parables of the two sons and the wicked tenants, Jesus exposes unbelief and rejected truth. Though rejected by many, He is the cornerstone chosen by God - the foundation of God's kingdom.

Psalm

David asks God to examine his heart and expresses his desire to walk with integrity, trusting God's unfailing love and worshiping Him with thanksgiving. Proverb Summary God hates pride, lying, violence, deceit, and the stirring up of conflict. His people are called to truth, humility, and peace. Discover Jesus God's guidance through cloud and fire pointed to Someone greater. Jesus is our perfect Shepherd. Just as God made a way through the Red Sea, Jesus makes a way from sin to salvation. He is the Cornerstone rejected by many but chosen by God.

Through Him we are rescued, guided, and invited into redemption. Everything in today's reading points to Christ - the One who leads His people safely home. Reflect Where is God asking you to trust Him instead of relying on what you can see? How does knowing Jesus is your Shepherd give you confidence when the path ahead seems uncertain? Fellowship Share a time when God faithfully guided you through a difficult season. Encourage one another by remembering His faithfulness.

Prayer

Father, thank You for leading Your people with wisdom, power, and unfailing love. Help me trust Your direction even when I cannot see the whole path. Thank You for Jesus, my Shepherd and Savior. Strengthen my faith to follow You each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
