Today’s readings

- Proverb: PROVERBS 11:1-3
Discover
Today's readings bring us surprisingly close to the cross. Moses intercedes for Miriam after she attacks him. Jesus intercedes for sinners. Joshua and Caleb trust God when everyone else is afraid. Jesus trusts His Father completely - even in Gethsemane. Then Jesus gives His disciples the bread and cup. His body will be given. His blood will be poured out. And when the moment comes, Jesus prays: “Not My will, but Yours.” That is surrender. That is obedience. That is love. Everything is moving toward the cross.
Reflect
Where am I looking at the “giants” in my life instead of looking at God? Jesus surrendered His will completely to the Father. What am I still trying to hold onto instead of giving to Him?
Fellowship
Talk with someone about this: What does Jesus' prayer in Gethsemane teach us about trusting God when His way is difficult?
Prayer
Father, when fear becomes bigger than my faith, help me remember who You are. Teach me to trust You as Jesus did and to say, “Not my will, but Yours.” Lord Jesus, help me not only to know Your Word but to live it. Transform my heart so that my life reflects You more each day. Amen.
Live
When a “giant” appears today, don't begin with how big the problem is. Begin with how big your God is. Then take the next
faithful step with Jesus.
