It All Points to Jesus

Day 155 · June 4

A devotional for today

Today’s readings

Old Testament

David sings that the LORD is his rock, rescuer, and refuge. His mighty men display courage and loyalty, but David’s song reaches beyond human strength to the God who saves.

New Testament

At Pentecost the Holy Spirit fills the believers. Peter proclaims the crucified and risen Jesus, thousands respond, and a new Spirit-filled community is born.

Psalm

God’s people rejoice at the call to worship and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Proverb

Humility and reverence are better than pride and self-exaltation.

Discover

Pentecost fulfills Jesus’ promise: He does not leave His followers powerless. The risen King pours out the Holy Spirit so ordinary people can proclaim Him.

Reflect

Am I depending on the Holy Spirit or trying to live the Christian life in my own strength?

Fellowship

Share one place in today’s reading where you saw Jesus more clearly. Then discuss the reflection question together.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, keep my eyes on You and shape my life by Your Word. Holy Spirit, give me grace to trust, obey, and follow You today. Amen.

Live

Ask the Holy Spirit for power to make Jesus known through one ordinary act today. Lord Jesus, help me not only to know Your Word but to live it. Transform my heart so that my life reflects You more each day.
